Healthy Benefits of Fresh Cherry Juice

Seems like there's been a lot of hype around cherries lately, right? It might just be me, but at this time of year everyone is talking about cherries and for good reason; Yummy and crazy cherries are good for you. I go there a lot, so when I don't have time to grab a handful of cherries, I like to drink fresh cherry juice instead, and there are so many health benefits.

Healthy Benefits of Fresh Cherry Juice

Benefits of Fresh Cherry Juice

Home made cherry juice has many health benefits, including the ability to lower cholesterol, blood sugar, aid digestion, and may even help with weight loss. Cherries contain vitamin A, vitamin C (16% of the recommended daily intake in one serving), calcium, potassium which contributes to the proper functioning of the body and iron. The benefits of cherry juice not only help you stay healthy, but also give you that satisfying flavor we've been craving forever, even on the go.

For very active people, cherries can also help with faster recovery time. Studies have shown that cherry juice (sour cherry juice in particular, but they have very similar health benefits) helps you recover faster after hard workouts due to its ability to reduce muscle soreness due to anthocyanins, an antioxidant found in cherries. Anthocyanins can help with a number of things in the body, including supporting the body's heart and surrounding tissues, reducing inflammation in the body, and can also help prevent certain types of cancer. Anthocyanins are also responsible for giving cherries their dark red color. You can also find boron in cherries, which is a mineral that helps maintain calcium levels and promotes bone health.

That said, one of the greatest features of all is that cherries are free of fat, cholesterol, and sodium, making them a great snack to curb those evening cravings (yes, here's an ice cream and a bag of salty potato chips). Plus, a cup of cherries only has 90 calories. In short, cherries are a wonderful fruit and we love them.
